Tips for optimizing Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

As with any game, the performance of Black Ops 4 improves as the video settings are reduced, so configure your game as follows:

  • Display Mode: Full Screen
  • Update rate: highest available value
  • Resolution: your monitor’s default resolution
  • Rendering resolution: 95 (below that the graphic is too pixelated)
  • Vertical synchronization: Off
  • Texture quality: Medium or lower
  • Quality of special effects: Medium or lower
  • Texture filtering quality: Medium or lower
  • Model quality: Medium or lower
  • Screen space reflection: Off
  • Special shadow effects: Off
  • Shadow quality: Medium or lower
  • Dynamic Shadows: Off
  • Gun shadow: Off
  • Anti-aliasing quality: Medium or lower
  • Quality of ambient occlusion: Medium or lower
  • Loss of focus per movement: Off

There are also some hidden settings that can be changed to improve the performance of your game. To access them, go to the folder where the game is installed, enter the ” Call of Duty Black Ops 4> players ” directory and run the ” config ” file . Then, enter the values in bold in the parameters shown below:

  • disable_dynamic_sun_shadows = ” 1 ” // 0 or 1
  • // Particle shadow support
  • fx_shadows = ” 1 ” // 0 or 1
  • // Resolution of spot light shadows
  • spot_shadow_texture_size = ” 128 ” // 128 to 8192
  • // Resolution of omni (point) light shadows
  • omni_shadow_texture_size = ” 128 ” // 128 to 2048
  • // Enable multi-sampled soft shadows
  • shadow_filtering = ” 0 ” // 0 or 1

Another important information: update your video drivers ! Both Nvidia and AMD have released updated drivers to optimize Black Ops 4 performance.
