Learn all about all the links in Mobile Legends!

As with other MOBAS, Mobile Legends also has a link system in which players evolve as they win matches. Ranked matches in Mobile Legends are unlocked when you reach level 8 and have more than 5 heroes available. At that moment the link system starts and the ranked matches will be combined between players with the same skill level. There are seven links: Warrior, Elite, Master, Grand Master, Epic, Legend and Mythic. To pass from one to the other the player needs to accumulate stars. A victory earns you 1 star and a defeat earns you 1 star (with the exception of the Warrior link, in which you don't lose stars). If you have 0 stars and lose a match, you will be demoted. The Mythic link is the last of the ranked matches. However, the top 50 players from each server are promoted to a link above called Glória Mítica. See below how each link works in detail.

Warrior

It is the first link you receive once you reach level 8 and have 5 heroes. It is divided into 3 levels: Warrior III, Warrior II and Warrior I. To move from one level to the next you need 3 stars and when you are in Warrior I, you will need 3 more to move to the next link: Elite. While on that link you will not lose stars when you lose matches and you will not be able to invite friends above the Elite link to matches (as a way of maintaining balance).

Warrior link awards

If the season ends and your greatest link is Warrior, you will receive:
  • 1 x Premium Skin Fragment
  • 100 Tickets
  • 1000 Battle Points

Elite

It is the second link after Guerreiro. It is divided into 3 levels: Elite III, Elite II and Elite I. To move from one level to the next you need 4 stars and when you are in Elite 1, you will need 4 more to move to the next link: Master. In the Elite link you already lose stars whenever you lose a game, unless:
  • you have enough protection points
  • one or more players on your team have stayed AFK ( away from keyboard ) during the lost game. In these cases your star will only be protected once a day.
While on the Elite link you can only invite (or be invited by) Warrior, Elite or Master friends.

Elite Link Awards

If the season ends and your strongest link is Elite, you will receive:
  • 1 x Premium Skin Fragment
  • 200 Tickets
  • 2000 Battle Points

Master

It is divided into 4 levels: Master IV, Master III, Master II and Master I. To move from one level to the next you need 4 stars and when you are in Master 1, you will need 4 more to move to the next link: Great Master. In the Master link you lose stars whenever you lose a game, unless:
  • you have enough protection points or
  • two or more players on your team have become AFK during the lost game. In these cases your star will only be protected once a day.
While on the Master link you can only invite (or be invited by) Elite, Master or Grand Master friends.

To move from one level to the next you need 5 stars and when you are in Grand Master 1, you will need 5 more to move to the next link: Epic. In the Master link you lose stars whenever you lose a game, unless you have enough protection points. While on the Grand Master link you can only invite (or be invited by) friends Master, Grand Master or Epic.

From that link, teams can no longer contain heroes repeated in Selection Mode, so if you have come this far specializing in a few heroes, it's time to expand your horizons. While on the Epic link you can only invite (or be invited by) friends Grand Master, Epic or Legend.

Seasons in Mobile Legends

The seasons in Mobile Legends last 3 months. At the end of each competitive season the system evaluates which was the highest link the player has reached and offers him some prizes based on that (as shown in each link above). Your last link of the season will be the link with which you will start the new one.

Star climbing points and protection points

In addition to earning and losing stars as a result of the matches, Mobile Legends has additional mechanics to make you progress from link. In the ranks menu you can see the “Points to rise from star” bar. When that bar is filled you get 1 star. The bar increases with your activity in matches. The more you actively participate, the more points you earn. Some examples:
  • Being the MVP of the match = 10 points
  • Get a Legendary = 10 points
  • Get a Maniac = 40 points
  • Get a Savage = 50 points
The protection points work in a similar way to the points to ascend the star. The difference is that when the protection point bar fills, you will not lose 1 star in the event of defeat.

Invalidating matches

To protect your stars, the game also has a game invalidation mechanic. If one or more players become AFK and the rest decide to invalidate the match, the team must stay at the base for 3 minutes without letting any enemy get a kill. After 3 minutes the game will invalidate the match and no player will lose a star, with the exception of the absent player, who will be punished. Remember : this invalidation can only be done once a day, so it is often better to continue the game even with fewer players.
